गंगा सिंधु सरस्वती च यमुना गोदावरी नर्मदा
कृष्णा भीमरथी च फल्गु सरयूः श्रीगंडकी गोमती ।
कावेरी कपिला प्रयाग विनता नेत्रावतीत्यादयोः
नद्यः श्रीहरि पादपंकज भवाः कुर्वतु वो मंगलम् ॥
gaṃgā siṃdhu sarasvatī ca yamunā godāvarī narmadā
kṛṣṇā bhīmarathī ca phalgu sarayūḥ śrīgaṃḍakī gomatī .
kāverī kapilā prayāga vinatā netrāvatītyādayoḥ
nadyaḥ śrīhari pādapaṃkaja bhavāḥ kurvatu vo maṃgalam ..
Ganga, Sindhu, Saraswathi and Yamuna, Godavari, Narmada; Krishna, Bhimarathi and Phalgu; Sarayu, Shree, Gantaki, Gomathi; Kaveri, Kapila, Prayag, Vinata, Netravati and the like, may these rivers, springing from the source of the lotus-feet of Sri Hari, bring welfare to all.

Holy Bath. Chant this mantra during bath. As you take bath, you want the waters of the sacred rivers to cleanse you and bless you. It is an expression of gratitude to god for the gift of water.
