अधियज्ञः कथं कोऽत्र देहेऽस्मिन्मधुसूदन ।
प्रयाणकाले च कथं ज्ञेयोऽसि नियतात्मभिः ॥ ८-२॥
adhiyajñaḥ kathaṃ ko’tra dehe’sminmadhusūdana
prayāṇakāle ca kathaṃ jñeyo’si niyatātmabhiḥ 8-2
Who, and how, is ADHIYAJNA here in this body, O destroyer of Madhu? And how, at the time of death, are you to be known by the self-controlled?
adhiyajñaḥ = the Lord of sacrifice; kathaṃ = how; kaḥ = who; atra = here; dehe = in the body; asmin = this; madhusūdana = O Madhusudana; prayāṇakāle = at the time of death; ca = and; kathaṃ = how; jñeyosi = You can be known; niyatātmabhiḥ = by the self-controlled.;
